Eli Fluchter proves that retirement is the perfect time to fulfill your dreams. The man after stopping career decided to follow his great passion - the aquarium hobby. For many years he was planning construction of a large aquarium in his own house, but only now he was able to realize his goal.
Eli Fluchter is a 63-year-old Israeli, who is the co-founder of EZchip Semiconductor. A few years ago he retired, but only recently he got quite famous. All through a video  shared on YouTube, in which a man shows his tank with a capacity of 30,000 liters of seawater, where there are about 150 colorful fish representing 30 different species.

The construction of the huge aquarium is a huge undertaking. The construction crew had to dismantle the roof and use a crane to mount walls of the aquarium inside the house.

The filter system produces special waves, on which coral floats. Imitation of sea currents is one of many factors in design, aimed to make as closely as possible the natural marine environment.

The former CEO of EZchip Semiconductor programmed multiple functions in the aquarium by himself, among other things, the function of feeding, temperature control, cover hiding/ejecting, which are supported by an application on Fruchter's phone.

The aquarium filtration system is really impressive. It is located directly under the aquarium behind the thick, double metal door. After stepping the threshold of the room, you can smell fresh sea water. All talking is impossible, because it is effectively drown out by these three powerful pumps. In this room there are also smaller tanks with water. Inside there are young fish, shrimp and other marine creatures  acclimatizing, before Fruchter decides to move them to the big aquarium.
Filters designed by the millionaire rely on the forces of gravity and the separation of stiff foam made up of impurities from pure water. This, in turn, returns to the main aquarium through a system of smaller tanks with filters.
The system filters out about 100,000 liters of water per hour, which is roughly three times more than the volume of the entire aquarium.
The first specimens appeared in the aquarium already 5 years ago, but as the owner himself claims it will take a few good years before the ecosystem will be fully developed. Corals are a species that needs even more than ten years to begin to flourish. While Fruchter is not taking care of the aquarium, he watches documentaries on BBC, share knowledge on online forums and watches YouTube videos similar to his hobby.
