The ancient fortress of Arg e Bam was one of the greatest attractions in Iran. It was, until a tragic earthquake happened in that place in 2003, leaving it practically as ruins. Before the cataclysm, this building stood there for 2,500 years, time-worn but still being the monument of a mighty clay fortress.

The earthquake in 2003 left it almost completely down to the ground. But it wasn't the only one that collapsed because of impact. The surrounding city was destroyed in 95%, and more than 45,000 people were buried under the rubble. Life goes on, the survivors of the cataclysm have rebuilt their houses, and the Iranian government decided to rebuild the destroyed Arg-e Bam. That's how it looks like now.
